1st days of school

Smooby in the first grade & my Princess in Kindergarten makes for one quiet, lonley house. On the flip side....it did stay clean all day. They are both so SUPER excited. She can't believe she has her own PINK backpack. Could the world get any better?? Oh--how we love Mrs. Williamson. Whenever I say to anyone who Adyson has as a teacher this year the reply is always the same...."You are SOOO Lucky!"

Riley loves Mrs. McCarver too! He gets to dance every Friday. Again....can the world get any better??? Wait....apparently it can......there is a DISCO BALL in his room!!!!

4th of July

Well, honestly, this year - this day lasted FOREVER!! It was the greatest 4 or 5 days! We BBQ'ed every day. EVERY DAY!! For 5 days. You'd think we'd get tired of it, but nope!! We switched things out. Had a lobster bake! Steamers. And a little bit of beer. Cute shirts huh??

And of course our Bruiser had a fabulous time in his pool and hanging outside with us.

I am quite sure I took more pictures, I just can't seem to find them.

Happy Father's day!

This father's day Dave was out of town. When he came back we decided to make him one of those big cookies--the kind you get at the mall...less the chocolate chips. It was quite a hit--even cracked!! This is Bruiser having a dress rehearsal for the 4th of July. Alot of planning goes into the festivities here at the Keough's. Yes, even for the dog.

Black & Blue Festival

Blueberries that are the size of your thumb. Seriously....they are so huge and so sweet. Plus the manual labor that they actually seem to enjoy!!

This was Ms. Stacey & Jakes first trip. Bet they'll be going back next year!!

Happy Anniversary

Me and my darling husband have been married for eight glorious years. What? Why is he missing from the picture? Oh...still out of town. The kids and I got dressed up and they took me out to dinner. They were actually quite thrilled to be a part of it. Normally we line up a babysitter...or tie them up.

A quick trip to the Zoo.

Adyson said, "What Riley? I can't hear you." They are hysterical! What I learned this summer was to go to the zoo on Sunday mornings at 10am. Not crowded. Not hot. Very nice.

Happy Birthdy Shane!!

Happy Twentieth Brithday Sha-Sha. We spent the evening at Hooters (his choice). The highlight of the evening.....I got carded. I love when that happens.....and I have witnesses.

Yes, it is June and Riley is wearing a snow hat. Don't know why.

Citifest 2011

We built a little baseball game. Never very fun. Ever. This was Dave's first experience with the Home Depot projects. Apparently he has led a very sheltered parenthood. We have always known Dave is not a "handy-man". This kind-of cemented it in.

It was so hot & the kids were so miserable that we just left. Didn't play on anything. Didn't eat anything. Didn't have any fun at all. Then, we went back in the evening to see Vertical Horizon and I have decided that for all other Citifests that I attend - I will simply go in the evening. It was nice, better parking, not as crowded, not as hot, bands are playing, there is still food left, all the rides are still up.

Me and my man!

Cahaba Lillies

The lilys were barely blooming, but we have missed it for the past two years and decided to just hit it. It's all a little bit "natur-ey" for me, but my little girl loved it. Riley, of course, spent the whole day in the shade on a bench. Apparently the apple does not fall far from the tree.

Summer BBQ's

The essentials for summer BBQ's.

First....snow cones
Second...margaritas. Make that large margaritas.

Third...singing and dancing.

We don't even require food. That is all that is needed for our fabulous BBQ's. Maybe a horseshoe game, but that's about it.
